Continuing Education
The Department of Continuing Education and Extension Programme was established in 1978 under the NAEP programme. It offers M.A. Population Education, Diploma in Population Education, P.G. Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education, M.A. Extension & Rural Development, M.A. Education (two years), B.Ed. (one-year course), and will also soon start M.Phil. (Education) of one year duration.
The Department imparts teaching, training, research, and extension in major fields of education such as Adult and Continuing Education, Population Education, Extension Education, Rural Development, and Education. UGC, New Delhi has recognized this Department as a Nodal Agency for Monitoring and Evaluation of the UGC Programme of the Departments of Adult and Continuing Education of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh region since 1992.
The Department has been conducting training programmes for college principals, programme officers, supervisors, volunteers, instructors, and master trainers since 1984. The focus of these programmes is on concepts, methods, problems, and strategies for organizing adult and continuing education programmes. The Department also organizes short-term courses of 1–3 months duration each session.
The dissertation programme for the postgraduate course is conducted under the guidance and supervision of the faculty members of the Department.
